Ethiopia registers nine more COVID-19 cases
Addis Ababa, April 10, 2020 (FBC) – The Ministry of Health has registered nine new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) out of the 442 samples that were tested over the past 24 hours.
This brings the total COVID-19 cases in Ethiopia to 65.
Seven of the nine confirmed cases are Ethiopians. The other two cases are Indian and Eritrean nationals.
All are individuals who have returned home from abroad and placed under a mandatory 14-day quarantine.
The country has so far registered two deaths and four recoveries from the virus.
According to the latest figures from Johns Hopkins University, more than 1.6 million cases of coronavirus have been registered globally.
Close to 96,000 people have died and more than 356,000 have recovered from the virus.
