Ethiopia registers 565 new COVID19 cases, 17 deaths in 24hrs

Addis Ababa, August 9, 2020 (FBC) –The Ministry of Health today reported 565 new COVID 19 cases out of the 9,035 samples tested in the past 24 hours.

This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 22, 818.

The Ministry also reported 17 COVID19-related deaths, taking the death toll to 407.

A total of 499 patients have recovered from the virus, bringing the total recoveries to 10, 206.

The number of active cases in Ethiopia now stands at 12, 203, of which 163 are in a severe condition.

The country has so far conducted 497,971 laboratory tests.
