Ethiopia prepares for Tokyo 2020 Olympics

Addis Ababa, October 11, 2020 (FBC) – Federal Sports Commission announced preparations for the upcoming Tokyo 2020 Olympic in the light of coronavirus precaution measures.

Elias Shikur, Commissioner of the Sports Commission, said hosting of sports events has a crucial role in stimulating the sector hit by the pandemic.

An executive and subcommittees have been established in line with coordinating preparations in a more cautious manner, the commissioner said.

The commission is leading post pandemic sports events in line with building the image of the country in cognizant of the award ANOCA conferred up on Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed, the commissioner added.
