Ethiopia participating at UNESCO’s Transforming Education Pre-Summit

Addis Ababa, June 29, 2022 (FBC) – Ethiopia is represented by President Sahle-work Zewde at UNESCO’s Transforming Education Pre-Summit where 154 Education ministers from across the globe are in attendance.

The President is Chair of the UNESCO International Commission for Futures of Education, which produced the Sahlework Report, blueprint for transforming education in 21st century.

In her remarks, the President highlighted the indispensable role of education and the need to transform it to contribute to global citizenship and peace and inclusive societies. Ethiopia is honoured to be at forefront and to play a lead role in global drive to transform education, she said.

The Pre-Summit meeting of ministers is aimed at preparing the Transforming Education Summit to be held in New York in September 2022.
