Ethiopia participates in Int’l Conference on Spread of Extremist Ideologies in Moscow

Addis Ababa, September 27, 2024 (FBC) – Ethiopian delegation, led by its ambassador to the Russian Federation, Genet Teshome, in the 4th International Conference on the Spread of Extremist Ideologies.

The conference was held in Moscow, Russia, on 25-26 September 2024.

Numerous Member states, the President of Interpol and representatives of regional organizations countering extremism and terrorism participated in the Conference.

Speakers of the Conference have underlined that the root causes of Terrorism have to be addressed and international cooperation is critical to prevent and defeat extremist ideologies.

They have also stated that many extremists and terrorists are threats beyond national jurisdictions; hence, governments and their law enforcement institutions as well as civil societies need to exert concerted efforts in the fight against terrorism and extremism.
