Ethiopia participates in “Care, Decent Work, Macro Economic Policy” workshop in Geneva
Addis Ababa, March 30, 2023 (FBC) – Ethiopian delegation led by Ergogie Tesfaye (Ph.D.), Minister of Women and Social Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia participated in the “Care, Decent Work and Macro Economic Policy” Workshop jointly organized by the United Nations Women and International Labour Organization held in Geneva from 27 to 29 March 2023.
In her remarks, Ergogie spoke about the benefits of the implementation of the rural and urban productive safety net and day care service programs in Ethiopia, according to Ethiopian Permanent Mission in Geneva.
She stated that numerous women in Ethiopia have benefited from the aforementioned programs, the Mission indicated.
It added that the Minister also briefed about a policy revision currently in progress in relation to further improving women rights in Ethiopia.
It is stated that, apart from Ethiopia, representatives from Argentina, Egypt, Morocco, and Nepal also shared their experiences on the implementation of transformative gender responsive care policy of their respective countries.
