Ethiopia participates at the 154th session of WHO Executive Board in Geneva
Addis Ababa, January 25, 2024 (FBC) – Ethiopian delegation led by Minister of State for Health, Dereje Dhuguma, is participating at the 154th session of WHO Executive Board being held from 22-27 January 2024 in Geneva, Switzerland.
The 154th session of the WHO Executive Board endorsed the draft decision on the development of global strategy and action plan on integrated emergency, critical and operative care (ECO) 2026-2035.
According to Ethiopian Permanent Mission in Geneva, this decision has been tabled by Ethiopia on behalf of the 47 member states of the African region and is believed to accelerate the implementation of the WHA 76.2 resolution.
The gratitude was also extended to the 27 member states of the EU, Brazil, China, Egypt, USA, Malaysia, Afghanistan and Bangladesh for their co-sponsorship.
It is known that the WHO Executive Board is composed of 34 technically qualified members elected for three-year terms.
