Ethiopia, Pakistan explore ways to deepen bilateral, regional cooperation
Addis Ababa, August 30, 2022 (FBC) – Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ethiopia to Pakistan, Jemal Beker presented his credentials to President Afrif Alvi.
The two had a discussion on how to strengthen the bilateral, regional and multilateral cooperation between Ethiopia and Pakistan.
They also exchanged views on a wide range of issues to deepen multifaceted cooperation between the two nations.
Ambassador Jemal Beker briefed the Pakistani President on latest developments in Ethiopia in the light of the renewed aggression of the terrorist TPLF and measures taken by the government to safeguard sovereignty of the country.
He said that TPLF undermined the AU-led peace process and blocked all opportunities facilitated by the government to address the situation with dialogue.
Ambassador Jemal Beker also reaffirmed Ethiopia’s commitment to amicable and reasonable utilization of natural resources in a way that respects benefits of downstream countries.
Expressing his appreciation to Ethiopia for opening an Embassy in Pakistan, the President reaffirmed commitment to heighten longstanding ties between the two countries in bilateral, regional and multilateral cooperation.
President Arif Alvi also vowed to expedite the efforts underway to heighten cooperation among the nations in trade, investment, technology and anti-terrorism areas.
