Ethiopia, Pakistan discuss ways of enhancing trade, investment ties

Addis Ababa, November 8, 2023 (FBC) – Ambassador Mesganu Arga, State Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, received and held discussions with Mr. Mian Atif Sharif, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Ethiopia, at his office today.

The discussion was focused on various ways of elevating the long-standing relations between the two countries.

Ambassador Mesganu expressed the need to further consolidate the existing bilateral relations between Ethiopia and Pakistan on trade, investment, aviation and cultural and technical assistance.

Ambassador Mesganu further elaborated the conducive investment climate in Ethiopia and called for more Pakistani investment.

Ambassador Mian Atif, on his part, expressed the robust bilateral relations between Pakistan and Ethiopia and affirmed Pakistani Government’s desire to enhance the existing relations in bilateral and multilateral fora.

Ambassador Mian went on to appreciate the huge investment potential that Ethiopia has in agriculture, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals and construction sector and stated that there is a huge opportunity for Pakistani investors.
