Ethiopia, Oman discuss ways to foster trade, economic ties

Addis Ababa, March 7, 2023 (FBC) – Fitsum Aseffa, Minister of Planning and Development, along with State Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Mesganu Arga, held a bilateral meeting with Said Al Saqri, Minister of Economy of the Sultanate of Oman on the margins of the 5th United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC-5) Summit in Doha, Qatar.

Officials of the two countries sides exchanged ideas with a view to strengthen economic ties between Ethiopia and Oman.

Both Fitsum Aseffa and Mesganu Arga also held a bilateral meeting with Silvino Augusto Jose Moreno, Minister of Industry & Commerce of Mozambique, on the sidelines of the LDC-5 Summit in Doha, Qatar.

The discussion centered on strengthening trade and investment ties between the two countries. Both sides also emphasized the need to utilize intra-African trade potentials within the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) framework.
