Ethiopia officially launches COVID 19 Vaccination, Health Minister opens inoculation in Tigray
Addis Ababa, March 13, 2021 (FBC) – Ethiopia has officially launched COVID 19 Vaccination at Eka Kotebe hospital in the presence of senior government officials and representatives of UN and other regional and international organizations. Several regions have also begun the vaccination.
The vaccination has started in Addis Ababa with inoculation of frontline health workers.
Oromia, Harari, Somali, Tigray, Southern Nations Nationalities and Peoples, Afar, Amhara and Benshangul Gumuz regions have started the vaccination.
Oromia regional sate has started the Vaccination at Modjo town where the frontline health professional become the first to receive the inoculation.
Minister of Health, Dr. Lia Tadesse has launched the vaccination and took the first shot in Mekelle City, Tigray regional state in the presence of regional officials where CEO of the Interim Administration, Dr. Mulu Nega has vaccinated against the virus.
State Minister of the Ministry of Health, Alemtsehay Paulos has also presided over the start of the vaccination in Harari Region at Jegol Health Center in Harar town.
Deputy President of Somali Regional State, Mustafa Omer along with health professionals received the inoculation.
