Ethiopia, Morocco agree to cement ties in multifaceted cooperation areas
Addis Ababa, November 14, 2020 (FBC) – Speaker of the House of Peoples Representatives, Tagesse Chafo and Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Ethiopia Nezha Alaoui Mahamdi discussed on way of cementing relations between the their two counties in multifaceted areas of cooperation.
During the discussion, the two sides agreed to further deepen the relationship between Ethiopia and the Kingdom of Morocco in all areas of partnership.
Underlining the longstanding relationships between the two nations, Speaker of the house, Tagesse Chafo expressed desire to reinforce the relationsip of the two nation in many cooperation spheres including people to people relationship, among others in the spirit of Pan-Africanism.
The house speaker demanded that the relationship based on mutual benefit of the people of the two countries, Tagesse said, adding parliaments of the two countries are working to realize strong ties among the nations.
Ambassador Nezha Alaoui Mahamdi, to her part, said that the commencement of bilateral relations between Ethiopia and her country traces back to the monarchial times, adding that development partnerhip is established to further deepen cooperation among the nations.
The ambassador also appreciated Ethiopia’s role for peace and stability in the region and the continent at large adding that the two countries have many things in common that intertwine their relationships despite geographical distance.
Ambassador Nezha Alaoui Mahamdi invited the speaker to visit morocco and called for improved relations between legislative bodies of the two countries based on the parliamentary relations created so far.
