Ethiopia made progress in implementing TJPO – MoJ
Addis Ababa, July 19, 2023 (FBC) – Ethiopia has made progress in the implementation of Transitional Justice Policy Options (TJPO) hitherto, according to the Ministry of Justice.
This was said during a briefing session on Transitional Justice conducted at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The briefing was provided by the Minister of Justice, Gedion Timotheos, together with the Political Advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ambassador Menelik Alemu.
The briefing was chiefly attended by Representatives of the European Union and Member States, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs indicated.
In his briefing, the Justice Minister highlighted the progress made hitherto in the implementation of the Transitional Justice Policy Options (TJPO) and way forward for its full implementation.
He, among others, addressed matters pertaining to the organization of the TJPO working group, highlighted the TJPO developed by the group, and the various public consultations held so far in different parts of Ethiopia with the support of stakeholders and partners. He also gave an overview of implementation plans for the future, as per MFA Ethiopia.
