Ethiopia, Libya discuss ways to rejuvenate bilateral and multilateral relationships
Addis Ababa, May 23, 2023 (FBC) – Mohamed Adim Mohamed Lino, Ambassador of the State of Libya to Ethiopia, presented a copy of his letter of credentials to Melaku Bedada, Chief of Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia.
During their conversation, Melaku highlighted the long-standing ties between the two countries, emphasizing the need to focus on strengthening both their multilateral and bilateral relationships.
The Chief of Protocol also provided a brief update on the outstanding issues of the GERD, while assuring the Libyan Ambassador of the Ethiopian Government’s commitment to strengthen bilateral ties.
The Libyan Ambassador, for his part, stated that Ethiopia is one of the countries to which the Libyan Government pays special attention.
He disclosed that his country is ready to reengage with Ethiopia and its fellow African brothers after a 12-year hiatus caused by a variety of factors.
The envoy appreciated the AU-led Pretoria Peace Agreement as an example for other African countries.
