Ethiopia-Korea Textile Techno Park inaugurated
Addis Ababa, November 9, 2023 (FBC) – The Ethiopia-Korea Textile Techno Park, the first in its kind in the country, has been inaugurated in the attendance of CEO of the Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC), Aklilu Tadesse and Ambassador of Republic of Korea to Ethiopia, Kang Seokhee, among others.
In his remarks at the inaugural ceremony, Aklilu Tadesse, stated that Ethiopia and Republic of Korea have strong relationship cemented by blood and bone, highlighting the role of such projects in taking the historical ties between the two countries to the next level.
Ethiopia-Korea Textile Techno Park is instrumental in bringing Republic of Korea’s best practices to the Ethiopian manufacturing industry sector, calling for more similar projects to expand in Ethiopia.
Ambassador Kang Seokhee, for his part, highlighted the significance of the Techno Park in strengthening the bilateral ties between Ethiopia and the Republic of Korea. Republic of Korea is committed to boost its relations with Ethiopia in multifaceted areas of cooperation, the Ambassador noted.
The Techno Park built in the Bole Lemi Industrial Park will provide services including certification of textile products and technical and practical training on garment design, among others.
