Ethiopia, Kenya mull over $1.3 Billion Power Purchase Agreement

Addis Ababa, September 13, 2021 (FBC) – Water, Irrigation and Energy Minister of Ethiopia, Engineer Seleshi Bekele (PhD) has met with the Kenyan Energy Minister Charles Keter.

The two discussed on completion of construction, guidelines for operation and Power Purchase Agreement Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) on Ethio-Kenyan energy interconnection.

The technical teams from Ethiopia and Kenya will conclude drafting of the agreement.

The system is an investment of 1.3 Billion USD with modern 500KV line, an important vehicle for East Africa interconnection and nucleus for regional integration and prosperity
