Ethiopia, Kenya discuss ways of expediting the utilization of the LAPSSET project

Addis Ababa, August 12, 2023 (FBC) – A high level Ethiopian delegation led by Alemu Sime (PhD), Minister of Transport and Logistics of Ethiopia has been in Kenya starting from August 10, 2023 for a working visit.

Alemu had a discussion with Onesimus Kipchumba Murkomen, Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport of the Republic of Kenya on Friday 11th August 2023.

During the meeting, they had discussed regional issues including the development of the Lamu Port- South Sudan -Ethiopia Transport (LAPSSET) Corridor which is one of the key infrastructure projects that is expected to be the major catalyst for integration between Kenya, Ethiopia and South Sudan.

They also underscored the importance of expediting the utilization of the LAPSSET project.

The meeting is part of the Delegation’s visit of the Northern Corridor of Kenya from 10th to 16th August 2023.
