Ethiopia keen to deepen long-standing tie with Australia through multifaceted areas – Envoy
Addis Ababa, June 26, 2023 (FBC) – Hadera Abera Admassu, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ethiopia to the Commonwealth of Australia presented a copy of his credentials to Mr. Ian McConville, Chief of Protocol, Department of Trade and Foreign Affairs of the Commonwealth of Australia today (26 June).
During the occasion Ambassador Hadera reaffirmed the commitment of the Government of Ethiopia to deepening the almost 6 decades of bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries.
He also underlined that his government is ready to promote cooperation in the areas of mining and energy, higher learning institutions, trade, investment, tourism and technology transfer as well as proactive engagement with the Ethiopian Diaspora living in the Commonwealth of Australia.
For his part, the Chief of Protocol Mr. Ian McConville underscored the importance of Ethiopia in the African continent.
According to the Ethiopian Embassy in Canberra, the Chief of Protocol thanked the Government of Ethiopia for fully resuming the functions of the embassy with a view to promote the bilateral relations between the two countries.
He further assured the Ambassador that the government of the Commonwealth of Australia will render all the necessary support to the Ambassador in the discharge of his duties.
