Ethiopia keen on deepening cooperation with China in technology development, financing

Addis Ababa, March 28, 2024 (FBC) – Semereta Sewasew, Ethiopian state minister for Economic Cooperation, during an interview with CGTN at the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2024, stated that China is a good model for African countries in several aspects.

Ethiopia is committed to deepening cooperation with China in areas of technology development and financial sectors, Semereta noted.

China’s support to Ethiopia’s infrastructure development sector has brought about multiple outcomes in advancing economic and social progress in the country.

China has the largest number of investors in Ethiopia and the Belt and Road Initiative allows investments to secure access to bigger markets, the State Minister added.

China’s participation in infrastructural link both in power and road allows markets to develop in the region. And, this benefits countries in the region.
