Ethiopia, Italy reiterate desire to further enhance military cooperation
Addis Ababa; June 29, 2024 (FBC) – Senator Stefania Craxi, the President of the Senate Foreign Affairs and Defense Commission of Italy, expressed her country’s eagerness to elevate the existing military cooperation between Italy and Ethiopia to a more advanced level..
Senator Stefania Craxi stated this commitment during her meeting with Ethiopia’s Minister of Defense, Ms. Aisha Mohammed, and other senior military officials in Addis Ababa.
Acknowledging Ethiopia’s pivotal role in promoting peace and security within the Horn of Africa region, Senator Stefania Craxi emphasized Italy’s intention to fortify its longstanding military partnership with Ethiopia.
In response, Minister Aisha Mohammed expressed her gratitude to Senator Craxi for Italy’s desire to enhance their military cooperation.
She reciprocated Italy’s intent, expressing Ethiopia’s strong interest in deepening its friendship with Italy in the field of military affairs.
Italian parliamentary delegation led by Senator Stefania Craxi, President of the Senate Foreign Affairs and Defense Commission, is in Ethiopia this week for a working visit.
During her stay in Addis Ababa, Senator Stefania Craxi met and discussed with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Ambassador Taye Atske-Selassie as well as members of Foreign Relations and Peace Affairs Standing Committee of the House of People’s Representatives (HPR).
