Peace Minister holds talks with Deputy Minister of Italy’s Foreign Affairs on current issues

Addis Ababa, December 9, 2020 (FBC) –Ethiopia’s Minister of Peace Muferihat Kamil held phone conversation with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy, Emanuela Del Re.

Muferihat briefed Emanuela Del Re about the now-concluded law enforcement operation and delivery of humanitarian assistance in the northern part of Ethiopia.

She further stated that the law enforcement operation was successfully accomplished with the utmost care to protect civilians and infrastructure.

The Deputy Foreign Minister for her part appreciated the care taken to protect civilians during the law enforcement process.

She affirmed that Italy will continue to support the efforts of Ethiopia in tackling humanitarian needs especially with the supply of medical supplies through the Italian Red Cross Society.

She further reaffirmed that the long-standing friendly relations between the two countries will further be strengthened.

Muferihat expressed her utmost gratefulness to the Government of Italy for their support, according to the Ministry of Peace.
