Ethiopia inks agreement with UN to host 1st Preparatory session for 4th Int’l Conference on Financing for Dev’t

Addis Ababa, July 18, 2024 (FBC) – Ethiopia inked Host Country Agreement with the UN to host the 1st preparatory session for the 4th International Conference on Financing for Development which will be held in Addis from July 22-26.

Ethiopia’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Tesfaye Yilma and Li Junhua, UN Under-Secretary-General for Economic and Social Affairs, have signed the agreement.

On the occasion, Ambassador Tesfaye reaffirmed Ethiopia’s firm commitment to a more effective UN development system and reinvigorated multilateralism.

Li Junhua, for his part, appreciated Ethiopia’s commitment to host the conference calling this vital to mobilize financial resources for the implementation of SDGs.

Recall, Ethiopia hosted the third International Conference on Financing for Development in Addis Ababa, on 13-16 July 2015.
