Ethiopia, India discuss ways of strengthening technical, economic cooperation

Addis Ababa, August 14, 2023 (FBC) – Ethiopian Ambassador to India, Demeke Atnafu met with Abhilasha Joshi, Additional Secretary for Development Partnership Administration of Ministry of External Affairs of India and discussed ways of strengthening Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) program to Ethiopia.

Abhilasha Joshi briefed the Ambassador on the ongoing ITEC program to Ethiopia which increased over the years reaching 400 slots, where Ethiopian specialists and experts attended training sponsored by the Government of India.

Ambassador Demeke expressed gratitude to the Government of India for sponsoring training program for more than 400 Ethiopian experts and specialists every year, and underscored the utmost importance Ethiopia attaches to cooperation and partnership in areas of capacity building, with India.

The training courses being provided by ITEC program includes entrepreneurship development managing, water resources, fluid dynamics, energy, ICT, management skills etc.
