Ethiopia-India Business, Cultural Council launched
Addis Ababa, October 9, 2023 (FBC) – An Ethiopia-India Business and Cultural Council has been launched in India during India-Africa Business Conclave held in Pune, Maharashtra State, India.
The Ethiopian Embassy in New has participated in India-Africa Conclave held from 6 to 7 October 2023.
Addressing the event, Ethiopia’s Ambassador to India, Demeke Atnafu briefed the audience of investment opportunities in his country with special focus on priority sectors such as agriculture and agro-processing, manufacturing, ICT, mining and tourism.
He also expounded favourable economic factors such as market access, land, skilled labour force, specialized economic zones, integrated infrastructure, fiscal and non-fiscal incentives, economic reforms including privatization and liberalization of financial and telecom sectors.
At the same time, Ambassador Demeke invited Indian companies to tap the vast investment opportunities in Ethiopia.
The Conclave was organized by Global India Business Forum (GIBF) to strengthen bilateral business and investment partnerships between India and African countries. More than 750 invitees attended the event.
On the margins of the event, the Ethiopian Embassy also engaged in one-to-one meetings with more than 150 company representatives, it was indicated.
