Ethiopia, IFAD explore ways for new resource windows
Addis Ababa, August 15, 2024 (FBC) – The Minister of State for Finance, Ms. Semereta Sewasew, held a discussion with International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) Regional Director, for the East and Southern Africa Division Ms. Sara Mbago-Bhunu on the overall portfolio funded by IFAD in Ethiopia.
The key topics in the discussion include exploring new resource windows, such as the Private Sector Window, and enhancing collaboration with other development partners.
According to the Ministry of Finance, IFAD’s Support focuses on strengthening rural finance institutions and expanding small-scale irrigation projects, which have significantly contributed to the agricultural and rural development of the country.
This meeting marks a significant step towards strengthening the partnership between Ethiopia and IFAD, aiming to bolster sustainable development and economic growth in the country.
