Ethiopia eyes attracting 500 overseas mining investments
Addis Ababa, October 13, 2020 (FBC) –Ethiopia’s Mines and Petroleum Ministry has planned to attract 500 Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) over the coming 10 years.
During a consultation held today on its 10-year perspective development plan, the ministry also announced plans to encourage 1,000 local investments.
Moreover, the Ministry envisaged gold production of 127,000 kilograms from artisanal miners and 10,000 kilograms from enterprises.
Mineral exports in the first quarter of this Ethiopian fiscal year generated $178 million.
