Ethiopia extends condolences to India over recent tragic stampede incident at the Kumbh Meta festival
Addis Ababa, January 31, 2025 (FMC) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has expressed its deepest condolences to the Government and the People of India following the tragic stampede at the Kumbh Meta festival in Prayagraj, which resulted in the loss of at least 15 lives and left many others injured.
In a statement issued this morning, the East African nation’s foreign ministry said that Ethiopia stands in solidarity with the Indian people during this difficult time. “We extend our heartfelt sympathy to the families of the victims and wish a swift recovery to the injured.”
The Ministry added that it remains committed to strengthening the enduring bonds of friendship between our two nations, especially during such moments of sorrow.
