Ethiopia emerged as a model of self-sufficiency in agriculture, economic resilience, says SG of Djibouti’s RPP

Addis Ababa, January 31, 2025 (FMC) – Addressing participants of the 2nd Congress of the Prosperity Party, Elias Moussa Dawale, Secretary General of People’s Rally for Progress Party of Djibouti (RPP), admired the meeting scene, Adwa Victory Memorial as a place that symbolizes resilience, unity, and the spirit of victory.

He appreciated the change taking place in Ethiopia as well as in Addis Ababa. “We really command you for the radical and transformative progress taking place across Ethiopia. We witness the stunning modernization of Addis Ababa, a revolution in infrastructure as well as in urban development,” he noted.

“Under Prosperity Party’s leadership, Ethiopia has rapidly emerged as a model of self-sufficiency in agriculture, achieving significant strides in food security and economic resilience in just few years. This is visionary leadership in action,” he underscored.

Elias Musa also commended the actions taken by the government led by the party in addressing conflict in the Tigray region through peaceful means. “Your unwavering commitment to peace, reconciliation, and national unity has restored hope and strengthened the foundation of a stable and prosperous Ethiopia,” he added.

He also welcomes the restoration of fraternal relation between Ethiopia and Somalia. Elias conveyed a message from the government of Djibouti regarding the power of togetherness. Togetherness at the national and regional level, we can achieve our goals.

“In this challenging horn of Africa region, we face terrorism and security threats, climate change and environmental shocks and unpredictable global geopolitics,” he said, adding that, “These challenges demand unity, resilience, deeper cooperation. Together, we strengthen our resilience and ensure regional stability and prosperity. And together, we rise.”

A peaceful, integrated and economically strong Horn of Africa is not just a dream, it’s a necessity. In this regard, Ethiopia has always been a regional pillar. Ethiopia is a guardian of stability, a champion of regional economic integration. We also consider Ethiopia as regional and global public good.

Today, more than ever, Ethiopia must continue to lead in driving regional peace and stability, economic transformation, stronger ties between nations around the region, he underscored.

“Let us therefore harness our shared wisdom and tradition to build lasting peace and unity from within. Ethiopia’s stability matters to us all. Let me again emphasize, Ethiopia’s stability matters. Ethiopia’s prosperity also matters. Ethiopia unity matters, not only for you Ethiopians, but for all of us in this region,” he pointed.

He concluded saying, “As we stand at a defining moment for our region, we must act together as one family with a shared and intertwined destiny.”
