Ethiopia elected to chair regional meetings during upcoming international telecommunication conference

Addis Ababa, March 11, 2021 (FBC) – Ethiopia has been chosen to chair regional meetings during the upcoming international telecommunication conference to be held in Addis Ababa next year.

Innovation and Technology Ministry, through video conference, briefed organizers of the international telecommunication conference on preparations Ethiopia has been undertaking ahead of the conference.

State Minister of Innovation and Technology Ministry, Dr. Ahmedin Mohammed who is elected as chairperson of the regional meetings said Ethiopia has achieved promising results in the telecom sector despite Coronavirus pandemic induced challenges.

He said proper preparations are being carried out by the country in a way to facilitate better platform that will help intercontinental countries exchange constructive views in the enhancement of the telecommunication sector.

Some 250 individuals representing several countries and organizations have participated in the virtual conference in which Ethiopia has shared its best experiences and recommendation believed to tackle global challenges in the telecommunication industry.
