Ethiopia earns $1.5 billion in the first quarter of the fiscal year

Addis Ababa, October 24, 2024 (FBC) – The Ministry of Trade and Regional Integration reviewed the export performance for the first quarter of the fiscal year today with the participation of exporters.

Minister Kasahun Gofe (PhD) highlighted a remarkable improvement in both volume and foreign exchange value compared to the previous fiscal year. “In the last three months, over 1.5 billion dollars have been earned, achieving 132% of our target and representing an increase of more than 700 million dollars compared to the same period last year,” he stated.

He emphasized the importance of cooperation with sector stakeholders and exporters to enhance the demand for foreign exchange in the economy by improving performance in the upcoming months.
