Ethiopia, Denmark forge new partnership focused on agriculture, renewable energy
Addis Ababa, November 15, 2024 (FBC) – Ethiopia and Denmark have entered into a bilateral agreement aimed at enhancing collaboration in agriculture, renewable energy, and sustainable development initiatives.
This agreement seeks to deepen the existing ties between the two nations while providing support for Ethiopia’s green initiatives.
The Danish Under-Secretary for Development and Foreign Affairs praised Ethiopia’s remarkable efforts in renewable energy, expressing Denmark’s commitment to assist the country in building climate resilient green economy.
Fitsum Assefa, Ethiopia’s Minister of Planning and Development, emphasized the significance of this agreement in strategically elevating the multifaceted relationship between the two countries.
The partnership follows a recent meeting between Ethiopian President Taye Atske-Selassie and Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen during the COP29 Climate Change Conference, where they discussed avenues for furthering bilateral cooperation.
