Ethiopia, Czechia ink MoU collaborate on dev’t initiatives and long-term loan agreements
Addis Ababa, December 9, 2024 (FMC) – The Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the Czech Republic today signed a memorandum of understanding to collaborate on development initiatives and long-term loan agreements.
The MoU was signed in during the meeting between Deputy Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Mr. Temesgen Truneh, and his Czechia counterpart, Mr. Marian Jurečka, in Addis Ababa.
In a post published on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Deputy PM Temesgen mentioned that had a productive discussion with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, Marian Jurečka, focusing on key bilateral issues.
Temesgen disclosed that the MoU further aims to strengthen the long-standing Ethiopia-Czechia relations.
During the discussion, Deputy Prime Minister Jurečka commended Ethiopia’s ongoing development activities and expressed keen interest in expanding cooperation in tourism and wildlife conservation.
It was further disclosed that the two deputy prime ministers also agreed to continue to strengthen cooperation between their countries on common issues.
Note that the Czech delegation, led by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Labour and Social Affairs, Marian Jurečka, has arrived in Ethiopia on Saturday. During his stay in Addis Ababa, Marian Jurečka met and held discussions with various federal government officials.
The Czech delegation has also paid a visit to special economic zones to explore investment opportunities presented by the recent macroeconomic reform in the East African nation.
An Ethiopia-Czechia Business Forum was also held in Addis Ababa this morning wchic brought together senior government officials, diplomats and business communities of the two countries.
