Ethiopia, Cuba vow to enhance collaboration in Science and Technology areas
Addis Ababa, November 25, 2022 (FBC) – Ethiopian Ambassador to the republic of Cuba, Dr. Genet Teshome held a discussion yesterday with Elba Rosa Pérez Montoya, Minister of Science, Technology and Environment of the Republic of Cuba on ways of enhancing bilateral collaboration between the two countries in the areas of science and technology.
During the discussion, Ambassador Dr. Genet highlighted Ethiopia’s effort to advance its technological capability, digitalize its economy and the role Cuba could play to realize this digital transformation.
He has also indicated a number of areas for cooperation in the field including facilitation of the transfer of knowledge and expertise in pharmaceuticals, bio-technology, agricultural science and exchange of information.
Ambassador Genet also highlighted the importance of finalizing the draft MoU the two countries signed for cooperation on areas of science and technology in transforming the ties between the two nations.
The Minister, on her part, reiterated the willingness of Cuba to the share its experiences with Ethiopia in areas identified by both parties.
She also expressed Cuba’s readiness to sign the MoU on Scientific and Technological Cooperation once the Ethiopian side notified them of the acceptance of proposition.
Both parties have also expressed the importance the two countries attach to their longstanding and historic relationship.
