Ethiopia Confirms 137 More COVID 19 Cases
Addis Ababa, May 24, 2020 (FBC) – Ethiopia has confirmed 137 more COVID 19 cases out of 5,015 samples tested over the last twenty four hours, Ministry of Health disclosed.
All the new cases are Ethiopians their age range from 4 to 75 years old, and 86 of them are male and the remaining 51 are female, the Ministry disclosed.
Among the total new cases, 109 are indentified from Addis Ababa, and the other 17 from Amhara, 8 from Oromiya, 2 from Benshangul Gumuz and 1 from Afar regional state.
Out of the total new cases 20 have a travel story, 8 have a contact with confirmed cases while the remaining 109 have neither a travel story nor contact with confirmed cases, according to ministry of health.
According to the Ministry, 8 of the new cases are from Tigray region all of them have travel history, and 4 from Oromiya region out of them two have travel history and the remaining without contact and history.
Additional 6 individuals have recovered from the disease taking the number of recoveries in the country to 197.
One individual who was receiving treatment for other diseases has died from coronaviurs while his sample test was under diagnosis taking the death toll to 8 in the country.
The total number of confirmed cases in Ethiopia has increased to 968
