Ethiopia confirms 119 COVID 19 cases, four deaths in 24hrs
Addis Ababa, June 28, 2020 (FBC) – The Ministry of Health has confirmed 119 new positive cases of COVID 19 out of the 3,895 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 5,689.
Among the new cases, 73 are male and 46 are female aged between one and 80 years. Some 116 of the cases are Ethiopians, while the other 3 are foreign nationals.
Of the new cases, 99 are from Addis Ababa, 7 from Harari, 5 from Tigray, 4 from Somali, 3 from Oromia and one from Amhara regions.
The Ministry also reported 4 COVID19-related deaths in the last 24 hours, taking the country’s death toll to 98.
A total of 117 patients have also recovered from the virus, bringing the total number of recoveries to 2,132.
Ethiopia has now a total of 3,457 active cases, with 33 of them in a severe condition. The total number of tests conducted so far stands at 246, 911.
