Ethiopia committed to strengthening diplomatic efforts in the region and beyond: Foreign Minister
Addis Ababa, October 29, 2024 (FBC) – Ethiopia is set to expand its diplomatic presence and foster cooperation both regionally and internationally, according to Minister of Foreign Affairs Gedion Timothewos (PhD).
In a recent briefing to officials and staff at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and associated institutions, Gedion outlined the key areas of focus for enhancing Ethiopia’s diplomatic influence. He emphasized the necessity of diplomacy grounded in knowledge and research to navigate the evolving regional and global landscape.
Highlighting the nation’s rich history in international relations, Gedion underlined the importance of elevating Ethiopia’s diplomatic efforts to strengthen its role on the continent and beyond. The Minister noted that both bilateral and multilateral diplomatic initiatives must be further developed.
Ambassador Birtukan Ayano, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, echoed these sentiments, stating that the country would focus on reinforcing existing foreign relations to achieve collective goals and drive positive change.
