Ethiopia, China reaffirm commitment to strengthen relations

Addis Ababa, June 3, 2022 (FBC) – Ethiopian Ambassador to China, H.E. Ambassador Teshome Toga held a virtual discussion today yesterday with ZHANG Lihua, Deputy Director-General of Regional Affairs Department of China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA), on strengthening the relationship between Ethiopia and CIDCA.

During the discussion, Ambassador Teshome noted that the two countries have enjoyed strong diplomatic relationship for more than half a century and called on CIDCA to continue its assistance to new and ongoing projects under the development cooperation goals of Ethiopia’s 10 year national development plan and the 8th Forum on China Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) ministerial conference.

The Ambassador, on behalf of the Ethiopian people and government, thanked the Chinese government for all the development and humanitarian assistances provided to the country.

ZHANG Lihua, on his part, said China values and attaches greater importance to the strong bilateral relationship between the two countries.

He further highlighted all kinds of development assistances that China has provided to Ethiopia since the establishment of diplomatic ties between the two in 1970.
