Ethiopia, China agree to elevate bilateral economic cooperation
Addis Ababa, January 23, 2025 (FMC) – Ethiopia and China have agreed to elevate their bilateral economic relations.
An Ethiopian delegation led by the Minister of Finance, Ahmed Shide is in China for a working visit. Ahmed discussed with his Chinese counterpart Lan Fo’an and Vice Chairperson of the National Development Reform Commission, Zhao Chenxin on ways of enhancing bilateral economic cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting primarily focused on further deepening bilateral economic cooperation between the two countries by implementing the consensus reached between their leaders and the agreements signed in 2023/24 during the BRI and FOCAC Summits and the official visit of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed’s to China.
The two ministers also agreed to consider and examine the details of new investment opportunities arising from the macroeconomic reform currently underway in Ethiopia.
