Ethiopia Celebrates Int’l Fire, Emergency Prevention Day
Addis Ababa, May 14, 2023 (FBC) – The International Fire and Emergency Prevention Day is being celebrated in Addis Ababa today.
The day is being celebrated for the 24th time in the world and for the 2nd time in Ethiopia.
On the celebration ceremony Mayor of the Addis Ababa City Administration, Adanech Abiebie said that in the past two years, the City Administration has given due attention to the prevention of fire and emergencies.
The mayor said that respect should be given to disaster prevention workers and firefighters as they are the ones who go into danger to prevent accidents and give their own lives to save the lives of others.
She urged the residents of the city to do their part in the prevention of fire and any accidents in the capital.
“The city administration is working hard to strengthen the capacity of the fire and emergency prevention institution in the city, it is equipping them with modern resources that go along with the growth and demand of the city in order to prevent any fire and accident in the city”, the Mayor has stated.
