Ethiopia, Botswana Vow To Deepen Bilateral Relations

Addis Ababa, June 20, 2023 (FBC) – Muktar Kedir, Ambassador-Designate to the Republic of Botswana presented his copies of Letter of Credence to Lemogang Kwape, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Botswana.

On the occasion, the Minister congratulated the Ambassador on his appointment as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ethiopia to Republic of Botswana and wished him successful tour of duty during his tenure and expressed his readiness to work closely with him for the mutual benefits of the two countries.

Minister Lemogang Kwape, during the discussion highlighted Ethiopia’s contributions to pan African values as well as its support for continental and global peace and stability.

He also commended the country for its success in achieving peace through Pretoria agreement and its implementation.

On his part Ambassador Muktar Kedir expressed his thanks and appreciation for the warm welcome accorded to him and his team and stated his readiness to work relentlessly to further broadening the existing cordial diplomatic relations and cooperation between the two countries.

Capitalizing on the long standing and historical relations between two countries the two sides exchanged views on the importance of further enhancing cooperation and sharing experience in areas of mining, governance, livestock resource development, leather industry and trade among others.
