Ethiopia backs Zimbabwe’s African Independence Museum project
Addis Ababa, January 26, 2024 (FBC) – Ambassador Meseganu Arga, State Minister of Foreign Affairs, discussed yesterday with a high-level delegation from Zimbabwe led by Ambassador Kwame Muzawazi, head of the Institute of African Knowledge, and accompanied by Sophia Nyamudeza, Ambassador of Zimbabwe to Ethiopia.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Zimbabwe’s initiative to establish a museum of African independence struggles received a great deal of attention during the discussion.
It is learned that the President of Zimbabwe Emmerson Mnangagwa is spearheading the initiative, and his government is funding the construction of the African Independence Museum.
During the discussion, Ambassador Mesganu Arga reaffirmed Ethiopia’s commitment to providing support for the initiative.
The museum will have sections to commemorate African nations’ struggles and accomplishments, including the historic victory at Adwa.
