Ethiopia, Azerbaijan agree to work closely on multilateral forums within the framework of South-South cooperation

Addis Ababa, January 15, 2025 (FMC) – State Minister at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Ambassador Mesganu Arga, held discussions with Asein Isaev, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, at his office today.

Ambassador Mesganu emphasized Ethiopia’s continued commitment to enhancing bilateral ties with the Kyrgyz Republic. He highlighted Ethiopia’s interest in exploring areas of cooperation and encouraged the Kyrgyz Republic to consider opening an embassy in Ethiopia.

First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Asein Isaev delivered a message from the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Zhaparov to the President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Taye Atske-Selassie.

He also presented draft Memoranda of Understandings (MoUs) designed to enhance collaboration across multiple sectors.

The two sides have agreed to work closely on multilateral forums within the framework of south-south cooperation, according to the Ethiopian foreign ministry.
