Ethiopia aspires to double agricultural productivity

Addis Ababa, August 23, 2021 (FBC) – Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has expressed aspirations of Ethiopia to double agricultural productivity that has been registered over the last three years.

“If we double the agricultural productivity that has been witnessed during the past three years, we will also succeed in our green initiative and ensure food security,” the Premier noted.

The Premier underlined that Ethiopia is moving closer to self-sufficient, adding that the nation has an immense potentials to bring about plenty of agricultural products. Ethiopia has prioritized irrigated wheat production in line with import substitution endeavors.
