Ethiopia and Pakistan agree to cooperate on tax administration
Addis Ababa, September 6, 2024 (FBC) – In a meeting that took place today in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia’s Minister of Revenues, Ms. Aynalem Nigusie, engaged in a discussion with a delegation led by Basit Saleem Shah, Minister (Trade & Investment) at the Embassy of Pakistan.
During their encounter, Ms. Aynalem expressed that Pakistan’s decision to collaborate on initiatives that enhance Ethiopia’s tax administration significantly contribute to the success of ongoing tax reform efforts.
In response, the Pakistani delegation, led by Basit Saleem Shah, Minister (Trade & Investment) at the Embassy of Pakistan, expressed their willingness to share their successful experiences, such as electronic audit and tax digitization, which have yielded positive results in their country.
It was emphasized that the cooperation between the two nations will have significant implications in the sector.
Subsequently, both parties concurred to exchange experiences and collaborate closely on tax management practices.
