Ethiopia and Armenia pledge to strengthen multifaceted cooperation
Addis Ababa, July 18, 2024 – Ethiopia’s Minister of Innovation and Technology, Belete Molla, met with Armenia’s Ambassador to Ethiopia, Sahak Sargsyan, to explore ways to enhance cooperation between their countries in various sectors.
During their discussions, the officials identified opportunities for cooperation in areas such as innovation and technology, with a focus on accelerating Ethiopia’s economic growth. Ethiopia is prioritizing the development of its science, technology, and innovation sector to drive national economic growth, and sees collaboration with experienced countries like Armenia as crucial to achieving this goal.
To boost its digital economy, Ethiopia is seeking to form closer ties with countries like Armenia, which has a strong track record in the ICT and technology sectors, he said.
Ambassador Sahak Sargsyan emphasized his country’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Ethiopia in these areas, as well as in industry and other sectors.
Armenia places great importance on its relationship with Ethiopia and is committed to taking bilateral ties to the next level in multiple areas, he underscored. The meeting marked a significant step forward in deepening the cooperation between the two nations, it was stated.
