Ethio Telecom unveils smart parking system in Sheger City

Addis Ababa, November 14, 2024 (FBC) – Ethio Telecom has officially introduced Ethiopia’s first “Smart Parking System” in the Melka Nono Sub-City of Sheger City.

The launch event was attended by Ethio Telecom’s CEO, Frehiwot Tamru, and Sheger City Administration’s Mayor, Teshome Adugna.

This innovative system enables drivers to easily locate available parking spaces, secure their spots, and make payments seamlessly via their mobile devices. Payments can be made using the Telebirr Super App.

Frehiwot Tamru emphasized Ethio Telecom’s commitment to realizing a Digital Ethiopia, noting that the introduction of the Smart Parking System is a significant step toward transforming Sheger into a smart city, particularly in high-traffic areas. She added that using Telebirr for parking management will save time, reduce costs, and minimize effort for users.
