Ethio telecom shares telebirr’s burgeoning achievements at MWCigali 2023

Addis Ababa, October 19, 2023 (FBC) – Ethio telecom CEO, Ms. Frehiwot Tamiru shared the experiences and remarkable achievements of telebirr at MWCKigali 2023 Fintech conference in, Kigali, Rwanda.

The MWCKigali 2023 Fintech conference is organized by GSMA under the theme “More Potential for Mobile Technology to be Unlocked & Exploited to Accelerate the Digital Transformation of our Continent”.

At the event, Frehiwot shared valuable insights about how telebirr is driving and revolutionizing Ethiopia’s digital transformation.

Moreover, the Ethio telecom CEO highlighted that the success of telebirr in Ethiopia serves as a shining example of how mobile technology has played a pivotal role in driving digital transformation throughout the continent and facilitating comprehensive development.

Recall that telebirr received a nomination for the Global Mobile Award (GLOMO awards) at the MWC Barcelona conference in February 2023 where its success story was also shared at.

Telebirr is a mobile money service developed and launched by Ethio telecom, the state-owned telecommunication and internet service provider in Ethiopia.
