Ethio Telecom launches 4G mobile network outside Addis Ababa

Addis Ababa, February 18, 2021 (FBC) – Ethio Telecom has launched its LTE Advanced 4G mobile network for the first time outside the capital Addis Ababa.

The service was launched in Adama, Bishoftu, Dukem, Gelan, Modjo and Awash Melkasa towns.

The launching event took place in the city of Adama, in the presence of Frehiwot Tamru, CEO of Ethio Telecom, as well as other federal and Oromia regional state officials.

The company said the new LTE Advanced mobile internet service will enable and empower its customers to digitize their services, increase productivity and improve their experiences.

The company added that it will launch similar services in other parts of the country over the next few months.
