Ethio-Djibouti JMC mid-term review meeting kicked off in Djibouti
Addis Ababa, April 24, 2024 (FBC) – The 16th mid-term review meeting of the Ethio-Djibouti Ministerial Joint Commission commenced in Djibouti, as confirmed today by the Embassy of Ethiopia in Djibouti. The gathering, according to the Embassy, reaffirms shared commitment to regional integration and cooperation.
The meeting convened Ethiopia’s Minister of Transport and Logistics, Mr. Alemu Simie, Ethiopian Ambassador to Djibouti Berhanu Tsegaye, Djibouti’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Mahamoud Ali Youssouf, and Djibouti’s Minister of Infrastructure and Equipment Mr. Hassan Humad Ibrahim, among other dignitaries.
In his remarks, Transport and Logistics Minister Alemu Simie emphasized the significance of the meeting in addressing the agreed-upon matters from the 16th JMC meeting held in Addis Ababa in October 2022, as well as pertinent issues that have arisen subsequent to the agreement.
Furthermore, the meeting is anticipated to deliberate and make decisions regarding the cooperation frameworks between the two countries, human trafficking, border trade, delays in the construction of Dikhil-Galafi Road, and related concerns.
