ERCS announces an 82mln birr rehabilitation works in two regions of Ethiopia
Addis Ababa, March 17, 2023 (FBC) – The Ethiopian Red Cross Society (ERCS) in collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) announced a 82 million birr project to rehabilitate displaced people in two conflict regions of Ethiopia.
Five beneficiary woredas are located in Metekel Zone of Benishangul Gumuz Region, Konso Zone and Derashe and Ale Special Districts of the Southern Region.
The 1-year project is aimed to construct houses, improve living. supply clean water and sanitiation facilities as well as offering psychological support to the displaced.
It is stated that the project has given priority to women, the disabled and the elderly.
Some 830 people have so far benefited from the construction as 760 people have received livelihood improvement services.
It will be remembered that the Ethiopian Red Cross Society, in cooperation with USAID built 280 houses with 24 million birr and delivered them to the beneficiaries.
